ד״ר אביהו שושנההפקולטה לחינוך מברכת את ד"ר אביהו שושנה, ראש המגמה להנחיית קבוצות בחוג לייעוץ והתפתחות האדם ומהחוג למנהיגות ומדיניות בחינוך, על זכייתו במענק מחקר מכובד מהקרן הלאומית למדע ISF. המענק ניתן לד"ר שושנה על מחקרו תחת הכותרת "Inside Vocational Schools: Ethnographies of Education, Class, and Subjectivity in Vocational Schools in the Post-Industrial Age".

תקציר המחקר:


This research is based on classic and current studies in anthropology of education and cultural (qualitative) educational sociology in order to execute a multi-site, longitudinal, ethnographical examination of vocational education in Israel. The study suggests examining the everyday educational-work in vocational high schools and the cultural production involved in becoming a vocational subject. The main research tools will be participant observations in school arenas and work-organizations in which the students are integrated; longitudinal observations over three years in one class, from the first day of school (10th grade) to its completion (12th grade) (a longitudinal classroom); an ethnographic accompaniment of school graduates through their first year after leaving school, upon their entering the workforce or enlisting in the military; in-depth interviews with the main actors in the field of vocational education; critical discursive analysis of written documents in order to glean an understanding of discourses affiliated with  vocational school; interviews with graduates of schools in which ethnographies will be conducted. This study proffers theoretical contributions in four knowledge domains: an analysis of the field of vocational education (or culture, education, pedagogy, and power); a phenomenology of class; an anthropology of (becoming) subjectivity; and a micro-inequality study.
